PALM-WOODLAWN CEMETERY (aka Naranja Cemetery), Homestead, Dade County, Florida

Directions: This cemetery is located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and SW 272 Street (aka Epmore). Notes: The Palm-Woodlawn Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in the south end of the country. This cemetery was call Naranja Cemetery then became know as the Homestead Palms Memorial Park about four years ago the name was changed to Palm-Woodlawn Cemetery when the land changed hands. This cemetery was an all white cemetery up until 1963. The first burnial was in 1912 in what is now know as section B. In the 30's all the gravels in the old Homestead Cemetery were moved to the Naranja Cemetery to make room for the town.
